| The Oregon Islamic Academy (OIA) OIA is the first full-time Islamic college preparatory high school in the northwest (Oregon and Washington). The academy commenced its first year with a 6th-9th grade class (2007-2008 ) and will add additional grades each year to follow until the academy consists of grades 6 through 12. OIA's mission is to shape the minds and hearts of its students according to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the traditions of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). A cornerstone of the school’s operating philosophy will be to foster in our students a love of learning, a spirit of inquiry, and critical thinking as well as a love and respect of people of other faiths. By incorporating Islamic principles into its rigorous core curricula, OIA will enable college-bound students to develop a God-centered outlook on life and learning. OIA aims at producing moral, ethical, and caring young men and women who take pride in their Islamic beliefs, possess a God-centered outlook on life, have a strong commitment to education, civic engagement, and community service, and strive to excel in all of their endeavors. OIA's Text Books are purchased through Glencoe Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies Program http://www.glencoe.com |
